I was a member of a team that performed a preservation needs assessment on a house museum in Taylor, TX. We focused on the preservation of the house as well as the collections within.
The house, built circa 1890, was the childhood home of Texas Governor Dan Moody. Using data loggers, light meters and visual inspection, we gathered data about the house and the storage of the collections housed within before giving recommendations for the preservation of the house and the museum collections.
